The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB) wishes to inform the public that effective 1st February 2016, the revised codes for contractor registration will be implemented.

These codes were developed following extensive consultations with stakeholders such as Procuring Entities and the bidding community in 2014. An elaborate plan has been developed to ensure a smooth transition from old to new codes. In line with this plan stakeholders are informed that with effect from 1st March 2016 until 31st August 2016 a parallel approach on PPADB registration codes compliance requirement will be adopted during tendering process where old and new codes at tendering will be applicable to avoid disdvantaging bidders with old codes who are yet to update their registration to the new code.

The six (6) months transition period will give bidders an opportunity to convert or update

their codes to the new codes whilst at the same time participating in tendering. As a way of

raising awareness and for proper implementation of the revised codes, PPADB will:

1. Embark on an awareness building campaign from the 4th January 2016 to inform the public about the implementation plan.

2. Facilitate the automatic transition of bidders from old to new codes and issue new 1st April 2016.

3. Kindly note that the implementation of the revised code 09 - Drilling Works is with immediate effect. Similarly a paralell approach will be adopted wherby both old and new codes are acceptable for tendering purposes until 31st August 2016.
