Responsibilities
The Board is responsible for the implementation and management of the public procurement and disposal process aimed at ensuring an efficient, fair, accountable competitive procurement process in which the people
of Botswana will have confidence.  Further, this process should

contribute to Botswana's socio-economic development through improved

value for money, the strengthening of citizen participation in economic

opportunities and skills and capacity development through:  

• Establishing overall policies and strategies to guide procurement and asset disposal activities;

• development of comprehensive systems, processes and procedures which will ensure competition system, transparency, objectivity, equity, overall resource use, efficiency and international best practice;

• Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the legislation, the inherent social and economic objectives embedded in the Act and countering corruption;

• Adjudication tender award recommendations submitted by procuring entities and asset disposal entities.
